Isometric MTO and piping BOM automation
Material take-offs, bills of materials, weld lists and cut lists generated straight from isometric drawings. Bulk quantities you can order from, in days.
Why this deliverable still takes weeks
A material take-off from isometrics is a counting exercise across hundreds of drawings. Pipe lengths, elbows, tees, reducers, flanges, gaskets, bolts, valves, supports. Counted by hand, summed by spec and size, and checked by someone else counting again.
It is the deliverable that feeds procurement, so a miscount is either surplus steel on the ground or a fabrication stoppage waiting on a fitting. Both are expensive, and both are common.
Fabricators also need weld counts and cut lengths from the same drawings, which is usually a second pass through the same isometrics by a different person.
From PDF to validated deliverable
- 1
You send the isometrics as PDF. The platform reads the bill of materials block on each sheet and the drawing itself, and reconciles the two.
- 2
Components are classified by type, size and spec and summed across the package into a project MTO. Pipe is totaled by cut length with allowance rules you set.
- 3
Weld counts and weld maps come from the same pass: shop and field welds, by size and type, per spool and per line.
- 4
Every quantity traces back to the isometric sheet and position it was counted from. The final MTO and weld list are reviewed and stamped by a licensed Texas PE.
Deliverables
- Project material take-off summed by spec, size and commodity code
- Per-isometric bill of materials
- Weld list and weld maps, shop and field, per spool
- Pipe cut list with allowances
- Support schedule with tag and type
- Reconciliation report between drawn geometry and the BOM block
Every deliverable is checked, approved and stamped by a licensed Texas PE, and every value traces back to its coordinates on the source drawing. Neo Engineering Solutions is SOC 2 Type 1 attested.
Common questions
Which isometric formats do you accept?
PDF isometrics from any CAD system, including scanned legacy drawings. No native CAD or PCF files are required, though they are welcome when available.
Do you use the BOM block or the drawn geometry?
Both. The BOM block is read as a starting point, then reconciled against the components actually drawn. Where they disagree, the discrepancy is listed rather than silently resolved.
Can the MTO be loaded into our materials system?
Yes. The MTO is delivered in your template with commodity codes, ready for import into your materials management or ERP system.
